April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th of July. She started piano and guitar lessons at age seven. Her interest in writing songs was ignited. April Lockhart composed her first song, Different, at age of 12. At 14 years old, April was spending a lot of time writing songs and honed her musical skills. In the following years, she began taking trips to write with father, who lived in NY as well as LA. April was the month that she began to write about other issues in the book, Take My Hand, for those of her peers who struggled issues with bullying, disabilities or suicide. Lockhart has a partnership with popular clean beauty brand Ilia and is also a lifestyle influencer with her own large following. The disability she has is part of her persona, however it's not the entire image. Because of this, her Instagram profile doesn't hide her disabilities, yet she doesn't focus on it in any way. The point is? that we are all a part of a multitude that our identities are complex and we're more than just our physical self. I do not want this to define me I don't want to be a disability influencer which is what I'm talking about because there are so numerous other aspects of me Lockhart states in video form from her house in Nashville. It doesn't impact my day-to-day life I do things normally, and I've discovered my own way to adjust the things. Since it's a part of my identity and something worth talking about. Lockhart's self-acceptance journey is a journey that's going to last a lifetime, but she inspires me in this regard. She admits that she's been through a few phases of her body not being confident in wearing certain types of clothing that showed off the arms of her. She dresses according to her preferences and posts photos of herself wearing the clothes she picks out on social media. She says that self-love is a process. I'm not certain if you'll ever get there. It's true for all regardless of their level of insecurity. The people that you associate yourself with, who know you, and can see into your soul are those that remind you of what is important.
